Back pain during pregnancy is a very common experience. It is a part of the process which you also need to deal with aside from other things accompanied by being pregnant. Although weight gain is one of the common culprits why women are suffering from back pains when they are pregnant, there are still other reasons why.
Hormonal imbalance occurs during pregnancy and these hormones can really make your mood swings and it is also the reason for pains at times. You can still do a lot of things to be able to lessen your sufferings. These things will help you become more comfortable with your situation:
1. You can try a workout regimen if your doctor will only approve them. There are plenty of exercises you can try if they will work for you then you may continue doing them until you deliver your baby. There are DVD you can follow so you’ll have a fun time working out. It can also help you relieve muscle stress and back pain all through your pregnancy.
2. Avoid standing for a long time; this will lessen your back pain. Those who are suffering from back pains might be standing for a longer period of time, avoiding this will help you lessen the problem.
3. If you can, lie down at least 20 minutes a day during your free time in the afternoon. It will help you minimize pain easily.
4. There are pregnancy pillow available in most pregnancy shops today. You may find expensive ones but don’t bother, there are also inexpensive ones. You should have them as a support on your growing body.
5. Opening your heating pad on a lower setting will also do some wonders for your back. There are some women who prefer ice as a relieved and aid for numbing. Ice is really effective but it doesn’t address the roots of the problem.
6. Tylenol is safe for pregnant women if you cannot bear the pain. You should also consult your doctor if you need to purchase and take some of it for immediate relieve from back pain.
There are some other things which you should be aware of aside from back pain due to pregnancy. You are also prone to infections such as UTI since it’s common for pregnant women. Take time to visit your doctor so you’ll know what treatment is right for you.
